We have now launched our upgraded search engine system on ShopWired to produce more relevant results to your customers based on the keywords that they use to search for products on your website.
As part of this upgrade, we have changed the way that filters are managed through your ShopWired account. The front-end experience for your website's visitors will remain the same, but the changes to your admin system (where filters and filter groups are managed) are significant.
Filter groups are now created by selecting 'settings' from the left menu and then 'filters' and then 'filter groups'. A new filter group can be created by completing the form at the top of the page by entering the filter group name and selecting the 'target' of the filter group.
The target is the page(s) on your front end website where you'd like the filter group to appear. You can select all pages or individual category/brand pages.
You can also enter a 'sort order' number for the filter group if you want to set the filter groups to display in a specific order. The lower the number, the higher up the filter group will appear (e.g. entering a sort order of 1 will ensure that the filter group appears at the top of the list).
If the filter group is specifically for prices then tick the 'is this filter group for product prices' tick box.
Existing filter groups are shown beneath the form where a new filter group is created.
When adding/editing a product there's a new section at the bottom of the page where you can enter the applicable filters.
All of the filter groups that have been configured on the page are shown in this section.
You should tick the box next to the filter group name if you want to enter filters applicable to that filter group.
In the example above you can see that we have configured filters for the Colours, Brand and Size filter groups.
It is possible to enter more than one filter for a filter group by entering the filters separated with a comma.
When you have finished click the 'save changes' button.
Filter sort orders
All of the filters that you have configured for filter groups on your products are displayed, grouped by their filter group, on the filter sort order page in the admin system. Select 'settings' from the left menu and then 'filters' and then 'filter sort order' from the left menu to navigate to this page.
Filters can be moved into a new position by selecting the compass icon and by dragging and dropping the filter into a new position.
You don't need to save the changes to this page, our system will update your filters automatically.
You should check the front end website to ensure that the changes have been correctly applied once a new order has been selected.
