Some small amendments have been made to the way that SKU codes and stock quantities are entered for products and variations on ShopWired.
1. You can no longer enter a stock quantity for a product or product variation without first entering a SKU code.
2. If your products have variations and you have entered SKU codes for each variation combination then you will no longer be able to enter a SKU code for the product (and therefore cannot enter a stock quantity).
3. Where a variation combination does not have a SKU code its stock status will be inherited from the product.
These changes 'tidy up' functionality on ShopWired surrounding SKU codes, stock quantities and stock status. If you have previously been entering SKU codes on ShopWired in accordance with these changes then your website will not be affected.
However, where products have variations which have a separate stock status, some users may have been entering a SKU code for the product as well as entering one for each variation combination.
If so, behaviour of your front end website might be affected (i.e. you may be expecting the product SKU code to display on your website when loading the product page).
A fix can be enabled on your ShopWired account to copy the data across from the SKU code field into a custom field and then display the data from the custom field in place of the product SKU code. For assistance with this change please contact us.
